HAF PLNA — Driver Network
Driver & Courier Network Terms
HAF Logistics Ltd · Last updated: 16 July 2026 · Effective: 16 July 2026
These terms apply to all drivers and couriers on the HAF PLNA network. By applying for a driver account and accepting work through HAF KNECT, you agree to these terms in full.
Employment status: HAF PLNA is a platform connecting independent couriers with delivery work. You are not an employee or worker of HAF Logistics Ltd. You are an independent contractor (either self-employed or operating through a limited company). You are solely responsible for your own tax, national insurance, and business obligations. If you are unsure of your employment status, seek independent legal or financial advice before joining the network.
1. Who can join the network
To work on the HAF PLNA driver network you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Hold a valid UK driving licence appropriate for the vehicle you intend to drive
- Hold valid motor insurance covering commercial/hire and reward use
- Hold valid goods-in-transit insurance appropriate for the loads you will carry
- Be legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom
- Successfully complete the Clever Checked compliance process via CleverPay before being activated on the network
- Maintain all of the above throughout your time on the network
2. Clever Checked compliance (CleverPay)
HAF works with CleverPay to run the Clever Checked compliance process. This involves identity verification, document checks, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
- Your personal data and documents submitted during onboarding are processed by CleverPay as a data processor on HAF's behalf. See the HAF Privacy Policy for full detail.
- Your account is only activated once CleverPay confirms you have passed the required checks.
- If your compliance status changes (e.g. insurance expires, licence is revoked) you must notify HAF immediately. Operating on the network with lapsed compliance is grounds for immediate suspension.
- HAF reserves the right to re-verify your compliance at any time and to suspend access pending re-verification.
3. Payment and settlement
How driver pay works
Driver earnings are settled weekly through CleverPay. The settlement cycle is:
| Period | Action |
| Monday to Sunday | You complete jobs on the HAF KNECT Exchange |
| Following Wednesday | CleverPay processes and pays your weekly earnings |
CleverPay weekly fee
CleverPay charges a flat fee per weekly invoice block — the same fee applies whether you completed 1 job, 10 jobs, or 100 jobs in that week. This fee covers identity management, compliance, invoicing, and payment processing. The current fee schedule is provided by CleverPay during onboarding and in your CleverPay account.
Network fee
HAF deducts a network fee from each job before calculating your driver pay. The current network fee is displayed on each job posting in the Exchange. The fee covers platform operation, job matching, customer relations, and ongoing network management.
Tax and self-assessment
As an independent contractor, you are responsible for registering with HMRC (if not already done), filing self-assessment tax returns, paying income tax and national insurance on your earnings, and registering for VAT if your annual turnover exceeds the current threshold.
CleverPay will provide records of your weekly settlements to support your tax filings. HAF does not deduct tax at source.
4. Taking work on the Exchange
Jobs are posted to the KNECT Exchange and are visible to drivers matching the load's vehicle requirements and location. Jobs can be offered as:
- Direct invites — offered to specific drivers based on past performance, location, or preferred-match status. These have a response window.
- Open jobs — available to any matching driver. First to accept gets the job.
Once you accept a job:
- You are committed to completing it to the standard described in the job posting
- You must mark collection and delivery milestones in the app (collected, en route, delivered)
- You must not sub-contract the job to another driver without HAF's prior written consent
- You are responsible for safe, lawful, and careful handling of the goods
5. Your responsibilities on the road
- Comply with all UK road traffic laws at all times
- Ensure your vehicle is roadworthy, taxed, MOT'd, and insured before each shift
- Not drive while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that impairs driving ability
- Load goods safely and securely, complying with load restraint regulations
- Not carry passengers in the load area or allow anyone other than you to drive on a HAF job
- Treat customers and their property with care and respect at all times
- Carry and be able to present your driving licence and insurance certificate on request
6. Goods in transit and insurance
You must hold valid goods-in-transit (GIT) insurance covering the types of loads you accept. If goods are damaged or lost in transit:
- You must report the incident to HAF immediately via the platform or by calling the HAF team
- Claims for damage or loss will be processed through your GIT insurance
- HAF will provide relevant booking records and documentation to support a claim
- You may be asked to provide a written account of what happened
HAF is not an insurer and does not offer cargo insurance. You must not represent yourself as insured by HAF.
7. Driver conduct and network standards
The following may result in a conduct review, suspension, or removal from the network:
- Abandoning a confirmed job without a valid reason and without notifying HAF
- Repeated late collections or deliveries without communication
- Misrepresenting load status (marking delivered when not)
- Attempting to contact or solicit customers outside the HAF platform
- Abusive, threatening, or discriminatory behaviour towards customers or HAF staff
- Operating with lapsed insurance, licence, or compliance documents
- Any criminal conviction relevant to road use or trust of goods
8. Fleet operators
If you operate a fleet of drivers on the HAF network:
- Each driver in your fleet must complete Clever Checked compliance individually
- Fleet accounts receive a consolidated settlement for all drivers under the fleet; CleverPay charges a flat fleet fee per weekly block rather than per-driver fees
- You are responsible for ensuring every driver in your fleet meets the requirements in Section 1 at all times
- Drivers under a fleet account may upgrade to personal Plus accounts for individual benefits
9. Suspension and removal
HAF may suspend your access to the network immediately if:
- Your CleverPay compliance status is flagged or revoked
- You breach these terms or any applicable law
- We receive serious complaints about your conduct from customers
- We reasonably suspect fraud or misuse of the platform
Suspension may be temporary (pending investigation) or permanent. Where suspension is permanent, outstanding earnings for completed work will still be processed on the next settlement date.
You may appeal a suspension by contacting hello@usehaf.co.uk. We will acknowledge your appeal within 3 business days.
10. Leaving the network
You may leave the HAF PLNA network at any time by contacting hello@usehaf.co.uk. Any accepted and in-progress jobs must be completed or handed back before your account is closed. Outstanding earnings will be settled on the next CleverPay cycle.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the network grows. We will publish changes at this URL and notify active drivers by email at least 14 days before any material change takes effect.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by agreement will be referred to the courts of England and Wales.
